If we’re really going to say that realities are a delusion, that emptiness is no different from form and self is no different than other, then what about institutional duality?
Is the duality between monk and layman a delusion?
Or Bodhisattva and ordinary being?
Or saint and sinner?
Maybe zen institutions are kidding themselves with ideas like “ranks”
